It is with great sadness the family of Carolyn K Pietz announces the passing of Carolyn  on  January 16, 2025 at the Alden Terrace Rehabilitation Center in McHenry,  Illinois.  We are all sure that all of the four legged furry friends she cared for over the years met her at the rainbow bridge. Abiding by her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. A private family graveside gathering will be held in the spring in Sioux City, Iowa.

Carolyn was born in Sioux City July 14, 1941 to Albert and Clara {Wollman} Pietz. She grew up  in Sioux City with her parents and a younger brother and sister. She graduated from East High School in 1959 and from Loyola University in Chicago in 1964.  Carolyn loved animals all of her life and spent several years  assisting her good friend, Irene Richert, run the Room For One More Wildlife Center.

Survivors include her sister  Mary Haller of Sioux City, sister-in-law Marlene Pietz of Sioux City, her beloved nieces and nephews Andy Pietz, Becky Pietz, Tim Pietz, Mary Kay Pietz, Michael and Matt Haller, her great nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ron Pietz, her brother in law, Steve Haller and niece Anne Pietz.
