We are deeply saddened to announce the passing or our mother, Carolyn M. Carle on June 14, 2023. After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, Carolyn passed into eternal life surrounded by family at her home in Crystal Lake.

Carolyn was born on January 13, 1936 in Blue Island, IL and grew up in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago where she met and later married her husband Bill, in June 1956. In 1972 the family moved to Crystal Lake where she continued to raise her family.

Over the years Carolyn had many jobs, but cherished being a wife and mom. She was also known as Mom and Nana to most of her children’s friends. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Bil (Char) of McHenry, Tom of Woodstock, and her daughter Sheryl of Crystal Lake. Grandchildren Danielle and Paul (Ashley Rood) Colomer. Sisters, Judy Zilewicz of Wilmington, NC and Linda (Lynn) White of Argenta, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carroll and Ella Mae Bordner, her loving husband Bill and sister-in-law Beth (Howie) Anderson.

We would also like to give thanks to her doctors at Northwestern Hospital Chicago and Northwestern Hospital Lake Forest for all their wonderful care of our mom.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 29, 2023 from 1:00pm to 5:00 at Offsides Sports Bar in Woodstock, IL.

Carolyn wanted any memorials to be made in her name to Northwestern Memorial Foundation or Saint Jude Children’s Hospital.
