Jean was born in Hinsdale, IL on May 4, 1928 to Art and Laurie White. A beautiful daughter with bright, blue eyes and black hair.

After graduating from high school Jean attended North Central College in Naperville, IL. She met her husband David and together they raised four children: Kate, David Jr., Jennifer and Amanda.

Jean loved spending time baking, gardening and attending school activities with her children. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, room mother and in the PTA. Jean enjoyed a good time and although not one to over indulge, she would never turn down a good margarita or Bloody Mary.

Jean had an adventurous spirit. She loved traveling and often drove to the countryside to explore random roads never knowing where those roads might lead.

Jean enjoyed many years directing the Senior, Children’s and Bell choirs at Mundelein Methodist and St. Andrew’s Lutheran churches. She also worked as a Dental Assistant and at the Brown Bag Deli making all the desserts and salads.

Jean is survived by her children, Kate Meloney, David Jr. (Linda), Jennifer Paschke and Amanda (the late Timothy) Bowes, her grandchildren, Kimberly (Dan), Bridget, Josie and Madison, her great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband David Meloney Sr., her sister Connie Martin, her granddaughter Kelly Meloney and her son-in-law Timothy Bowes.

Jean was a cancer survivor but ultimately succumbed to Alzheimer’s Disease on October 1, 2022 at the age of 94.She will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, thoughtfulness and for serving others in need.
