John “Jack” R. Loftus passed away December 24, 2021 at the age of 62 in McHenry, IL His battle with serious medical conditions showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite his pain, John came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. He was a man of true integrity with a wicked sense of humor.

John was born June 30, 1959 to John R. Loftus and Darlene (Meyers) Goewey in Richmond, IL. He attended Richmond-Burton High School and went on to get a degree from Judson University. John worked for Zeller Plastic, but he truly loved his previous employment with Intermatic, serving 25 years.

John was a foster parent and an avid runner before his illness. He enjoyed his family, friends and taking long rides on his scooter. He was an active member of AA, serving 36 years. He helped many people during his years of service.

John is survived by his life partner, Kimberly Feldhausen; brother, Dave Meyers; son Josha Wicyk (Mary); daughter Syndi Galarza (Stephen); 7 grandchildren, Dorian and Dorthea Wicyk, Felipe Galarza IV, Maddie, Katlin,and Liam Kunkel, and Elijah Feldhausen; Maternal aunts and uncles, Arthur Meyers (Charlotte), June Blanke (Robert), Marge Beers (Richard), Ralph Mwyers (Patricia), Mary Dade (harold), Betty Thompson (Emmett), and Linda Kelm (Edward).

He is preceded in death by his father John R. Loftus, mother, Darlene (Meyers) Goewey, step-father Earl Goewey and brother, Lawrence Goewey.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm with a 3:00 pm service at Northern Illinois Funeral Services, Inc., 31632 N. Ellis Drive., Volo, Il 60073 www.nifsinc.com
