Knauf, Kenneth Hugo 94, on September 7, 2023, of Grayslake, IL, Indian Rocks Beach, FL, and formerly of Evanston, IL died at JourneyCare Hospice care in Barrington, IL. Born in Chilton, WI, son of William N., former President of Knauf & Tesch (Kaytee) and Leta, daughter of the city mayor. After graduating from University of Wisconsin, Madison, served with the U.S. Army Counter-Intelligence Corps. In Chicago, Ken joined Billboard Magazine as a young reporter, met his wife and worked as Billboard’s copy editor in New York and as news editor of Amusement Business magazine in Chicago. Later joining International Harvester Co., he did photo feature articles across the country. At Encyclopaedia Britannica, he helped launch its successful new edition at that time, as National Sales Promotion Manager. A long-time resident of Evanston, IL, a gifted photographer and athlete, Ken leaves behind his wife Roberta, daughter Karen, son Bill, and three grandchildren: Erin, Patrick, and Aidan. Visitation at 10 AM, on Thursday, 9/14, with Mass following at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Gurnee, IL.
