Marcia G. Gunther (Nee Renner)

Marcia G. (Renner) Gunther, 75, of Lake in the Hills, IL passed away April 1st, 2024, peacefully after being with her whole family for Easter.  Born to Margery Louise (Dana) Renner and Rudolph C. Renner on February 28th, 1949, in Chicago, IL. Marcia grew up in Chicago with family and friends, attending Belding Elementary and Schurz High School.

Marcia was a homemaker that enjoyed cooking, baking and feeding everyone who came to visit.  Holidays, especially Christmas, were her favorite time to get together and be with family.  She created many traditions that will live on with our family. She had a strong and unending love for her entire family, which was the most important thing in her life.  She had immense pride in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and entire family.

She leaves behind a loving legacy in her son Earl (Cindy) Gunther Jr., Timothy Gunther/Angie Dwyer, her grandchildren whom she adored, Alexandra Becker Del Castillo, Payton Gunther, Evan Gunther, and Griffin Gunther.  Her loving sisters Patricia (Renner) Cooney and Elizabeth (Renner) Senase.  She had many nieces and nephews including Kenny, Kurt, Rudy, Gina, Michael, Felicia, Bobby Jr., Christopher, and Mathew, in addition to great nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

She was preceded by and reunited in heaven with her loving sister Kathleen (Renner) Cooney, and both her parents.

“To live in this world, you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal: to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, let it go.  This is why living in this world is so hard.  It asks us to sacrifice our hearts over and over.”  Mary Oliver

Marcia will be cremated and laid to rest in a small graveside celebration later in May.  In lieu of flowers the family would kindly request donations to fight Breast Cancer; either at Komen.org or NationalBreastCancer.org.

Rest in peace dear mother, your love and light will shine on through your family, you will always be remembered and loved.  Until we meet again in Heaven.
