Michael Charles Kite, 62, of Libertyville, IL, passed away December 22nd, after a 20-month battle with prostate cancer.
Mike brought a photographer’s sensibility to everything he touched. He was able to see the unique beauty in everything and captured that beauty with precision and technical know-how. He applied those same traits to his career, producing thousands of marketing and educational publications for healthcare over his lifetime.
Mike loved to talk. He loved people. He was an incorruptible optimist, despite lightning strikes and other natural disasters. He always chose to see positive intent in those around him. From the daily curated Facebook cartoon to the long-con practical jokes (sometimes spanning years), he delighted in leaving laughter in his wake.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Rae (nee Hook) Kite. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth (nee Lockner), son Brian, daughter Sabrina, brother Christopher and sister-in-law Sylvia, Aunt Phyllis (Harold) Freiberger, Uncle Richard (Angie) Kite, nephews Ben Kite (Colleen Kaferly), Alex Kite (Jenny Lin), Tim (Chelsie) Lockner, Tom Lockner (Marnie Wineberg), niece Jenny Lockner, mother-in-law Joy Lockner, brothers-in-law Chris (Janee) Lockner, Matt (Melissa) Lockner, Peter (Wendy) Lockner and sister-in-law Kate Lockner (John Berkowitz),and many cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in his name to the Fat Cat Rescue. [https://www.fatcatrescueinc.org/about-us] A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
