He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His children were his pride and joy. When his grandchildren were born, he became Grandpa to Nolan, and Nonno to Mia and Bryce, a role that he deeply treasured.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Susan (Rocchi) Bruett, son Kyle (Melissa-Ann) Bruett, daughter Kimberly (Nickolas) Sandstrom, grandchildren, Nolan Bruett, and Mia and Bryce Sandstrom. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Julia) Bruett, and his nieces Kellina Bruett-Fedell and Katie Ukleja.
