Rosa Helena Nevarez (née Kidder) 66, of Waukegan IL passed away peacefully at home, in the care of family on July 28, 2020 following a battle with heart

Born May 13,1954 Rosa made her grand entrance into the world faster than her parents could make it to the hospital. Rosa made local news when she was born beneath a tree in Park City IL. The 3rd of 5 children, she was the 1st daughter born to Wayne and Elena Kidder. Rosa was raised in Waukegan IL where she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Holy Child High School.

Lovingly referred to as Auntie Rose, she was known for her love of shopping and indulging her nieces and nephews who recall several shopping sprees during which they were instructed to pick out whatever they wanted. Rosa never forgot birthdays or holidays however her generosity was year round.

On March 8th 1987, her dream of becoming a mother came true with the birth of her first and only son Juanito. There was nothing he went without. Her devotion to him was unparalleled. As a man he would still come home for sleepovers during which they would sit together watching their favorite programs.

Rosa worked for Illinois Department on Employment Services for 20+ years where she made many lifelong friends. After retiring Rosa continued her work as a tax accountant. She successfully ran her business North Shore Tax Services for 20+years during which she provided her primarily Spanish speaking clients with patience and professionalism.

In her last living years, as her health limited her activities Rosa would enjoy talking with her sister Debbie about politics and current events as well sitting up late talking to her cousin Denny in Puerto Rico. She continued to indulge the children in the family and acted as an honorary grandma to great nieces and great nephews and even a great, great niece.

Rosa was preceded in death by her father Wayne Kidder, mother Elena Diaz Kidder, sister Ethelyn Colòn (née Kidder), brother Thomas Kidder and beloved brother-in-law Danny Beitzel. She is survived by her son Juan Nevarez, brother Wayne Kidder ,Sister Debra Beitzel (née Kidder) and godchildren Efrain Nevarez Jr, Michele Nevarez, Lupita Nevarez, Jennifer Nevarez, Stephanie Nevarez, Nicole Zavala and Carlitos Najarro. She also leaves behind life long friend Rosie Sajuan as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins all of whom will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life Mass will be held Thursday August 6, 2020.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a Mass beginning at 10:00 am
