Klaus K. Stoehr, 67, died on 22-Mar-2021 at home with family by his side after an extended battle with sarcoma, strong in his faith in God’s Kingdom to come. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, he came to Minnesota as a high school exchange student. He later returned to Minnesota to earn his undergraduate degree at U of M, followed by an international MBA at Thunderbird University in Arizona. He started his career in New Jersey, where he met his lifelong partner Maggie who brought two children into the marriage. They had a son (Peter) together. The family moved to Hawthorn Woods in 1994. He retired in 2020 from Abbott/AbbVie.
Klaus was devoted to his family and friends, both local and abroad. He loved traveling with his wife. They took many trips, mostly to Arizona and Germany. He was an avid genealogist and family historian. Family vacations to Germany often included stops to meet long lost relatives or towns and churches where ancestors lived and worshipped.
Surviving are his wife, daughter Anke White, sons Andreas Grabow and Peter Stoehr and their families. Memorial service will be held at The Chapel in Lake Zurich, IL on 10-Apr-2021 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation in his name to The Chapel Lake Zurich.
