Carol P. Solger of Wilmette, IL was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 24, 2021. She was born on January 14, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Albert and Dorothy Bruder and was united in holy matrimony to Raymond J. Solger on June 27, 1959. Carol worked at New Trier High School in the library for over 30 years, retiring in 2017. Carol was preceded in death by her father Albert Bruder, mother Dorothy Bruder, brother Albert Bruder, great grandson Riddick Quinones and loving husband of 56 years Raymond Solger. Carol was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s church in Wilmette for over 40 years where she served the Lord in any way possible. Carol will be remembered for her loving and caring ways, always doing for others before herself. She was a pillar of strength, regardless of the obstacles she had been faced with, Carol never complained. Carol leaves a legacy of love, family and faith. She will forever be with us. Carol leaves to cherish her memory four children, Jim Solger, Debbie (John) Kowalczyk, Kathy King and Beth (Eugene) Ecxford. Nine grandchildren, Karina (Michael) Carney, James Solger, Kristin (Scott) Quinones, Michael (Christina) Kowalczyk, Nicholas Kowalczyk, Zachary Kowalczyk, Brittany (Josh) Boller, Jasmine Ramsey, and Jessica (James) Quartey. Seven great grandchildren, Kailey, Tyler, Axel, Tenley, Jared, Brynlee and Waylon. Memorial services for Carol will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Church, 1747 Lake Ave, Wilmette, IL. Visitation will be from 9:30am – 11:00am with a full mass service immediately following. Interment at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 700 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL. Covid protocols may be implemented and will be shared once known. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Riddick’s Ride (www.riddicksride.org) or The Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Zion, IL location.
