Connie Kay Murphy, from St. Paul, MN, passed away October 12th after 79 years filled with family, friends, and her beloved dogs, Nick and Sasha. Connie was born September 14, 1942 in Huron, South Dakota to Otto and Catherine (Murphy) Werner. She was the third of seven children. Connie is survived by sister Janet (Tom) Logan, brother Terry (Joan), brother Rick (Judy), and brother Harold. Connie was preceded in death by sister Cheryl (Bob) Mathies and sister Tricia (Mike) Ferrin. She married William D. Frey in 1960 in Huron, SD. Together they had four children. Jeffrey (Susan Forbes) in 1961, Brian in 1962, Lisa (Robert) Piper in 1964 and Kristine (Ryan) Murray in 1967. Unfortunately, Kristine lost a battle to cancer in 2016. Connie is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Jacob and Jonathon Frey, Ryan and Nathan Harris and Sara and Jessica Frey. Connie had a diverse and exciting life. She pursued an undergraduate degree from Mankato State University. Her next adventure was driving big rigs where she met her husband, Bob Murphy. They purchased a piece of land in Northern Minnesota, built a log cabin by hand, and lived off the land for 2 years. Connie then went on to start a house cleaning business in St. Paul 30 plus years ago, with the goal of working until she was 80. The business allowed Connie to purchase and renovate her own home while creating a network of cherished friends. Connie always ate very healthy while encouraging others to follow along. She will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday November 21st from 12:00 to 3:00 in St. Paul at the St. Paul College Club on 990 Summit Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105.
