Maryln A. Splinter (nee Sullivan) 79 of Marengo, Il passed away peacefully November 10, 2021 at Journey Care in Barrington with he loving daughter by her side. Maryln was a nurse most of career at Elgin Mental Health hospital. Maryln, aka Grammy as so many affectionally referred to her, will be missed so much. She was so prevalent in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved most to be with family but also had many good friends that she kept close contact with either via phone calls or in person social outings. Maryln was very active in her church, First Presbyterian Church of Marengo, where she played the piano on Sunday and worked the church thrift store in town at least one day a week, sometimes more. She kept busy with many social events with her friends meeting for meals and having some well-deserved friend time. She was always calling on friends and family checking in, listening and just being there for everyone and anyone. Her puppy, Gracie, kept her busy and she was sure to take her for a walk everyday if the weather allowed. Little Gracie gave her so much joy and sure kept her busy. She was so proud of all her grandchildren and was always on the know of what was going on with them. She loved sports but enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports even more. She loved watching her Bears play football but would cheer on the Packers as long as they were not playing the Bears. She was always up on the latest regarding basketball too. Maryln enjoyed her time spent at the lake in MN every year at the cabin. She loved to see each new person learn to water ski or otherwise love the lake just like the family did. She loved the time spent with Dale in Texas in the winter and at the cabin in the summer. They enjoyed their time together and will be reunited once again. Maryln is survived by her loving daughter Desiree Richards, step-children; Bryan and Chantel Splinter, Dawn (Splinter) and Steve Steinmann, beloved grandchildren; Hayli and Tyler Richards, Zach and Carly Sponder, Teagan and Amelia Splinter, Sarah (Steinmann) and Matt Niermann, Taylor Steinmann, fond great grandchildren; Emmet and Easton Niermann and Gray Sponder.
