Richard Lawrence Smith

Richard L. Smith 75, of Round Lake Beach passed away peacefully December 21, 2022 at Elevate Care of Riverwoods, Il. He was born in Dekalb, Il. He worked as a Salvation Army and Avon Cares Food Pantry volunteer. He was an Alumni Southern Illinois University, donor of college of Lake County study programs, He was a United States Army Veteran.

Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Jackie (Wayne) Cunningham-Bailey, his surrogate family; Sam Cunningham, Mary Ross Cunningham, grandchildren; Aaryn and Jayden Swopes, Nylah and Jaylin Cunningham, Aaron Swopes, Alexandria Jamison, Wallace Jamison, Gerrod Collins, Gelayne Bailey and a host of great grandchildren that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother Lillian Jacobsen and his special friends Steve and Kevin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday December 27, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
