Sally (Waterman) Zeit, 94, died December 16. Born in Painsville, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack after 64 years of marriage. She is survived by 3 daughters, Kathy Zeit, Nancy Zeit, and Betsy Zeit Florin as well as 3 grandsons and 4 great-grandsons.
Sally was a life-long community activist and advocate for the most vulnerable among us, especially those in the criminal justice system. She received recognition and awards for her volunteer social service from the League of Women Voters, AAUW, City of Waukegan, Lake County (United Way Lifetime Achievement Award) and the State of Illinois (A Recognition resolution from the General Assembly). Sally played keyboard and sang carols with others from the community at the county jail during the Christmas season. One of her dying wishes was to see Donald Trump in jail.
