Richard “Rich” Allen Zabski, 69, passed away suddenly of natural causes on October 26, 2019 in his home. He was born to Stanely and Eunice (Petersen) Zabski on February 3, 1950. Rich attended Grant Community High School. He had a long career as a quality control inspector, retiring from Barnant in 2016. Rich is survived his wife of 46 years, Christine “Chris” (Hansen) Zabski, beloved daughter Heather Zabski, brother Robert “Bob” Zabski, sister-in-law Virgina “Dee” Zabski, treasured nieces Laura (Robert “Duck”) Billeck, Stephanie (Dante Taggart) Billeck, Chelsea (MK) Zabski, and nephew Donald “Donny” Zabski. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, sister Diane Zabski, and brother Donald “Don” Zabski. Rich was known for his great sense of humor. He was an avid diver, crossword puzzle enthusiast, devoted fisherman, and lifelong Cubs and Bears fan. A World War II history buff, Rich recently took the trip of a lifetime to visit the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. Per his wishes, there will be no services. Donations in his honor can be made to the Chicago Architecture Center. |
