Anthony David Ricci “Tony”, 43, of Chicago, IL, crossed the finish line of life on February 15th, 2023. He courageously fought a yearlong battle with neuroendocrine cancer and passed away at the home of his parents and sister, surrounded by loved ones. Tony Ricci was born on June 23rd, 1979, the oldest of four children born to parents David Ricci and Susan Ricci nee Schultz. He grew up with his parents and siblings in Wheeling, IL, where he attended Eugene Field Elementary School, Holmes Jr. High School, and Buffalo Grove High School. He began playing baseball at the age of 6 and quickly grew to love sports including baseball, football, and wrestling. During those years, he formed several friendships that became life-long. After his graduation from high school in 1997, Tony began learning the plumbing trade in which he was very successful up until his diagnosis. Throughout his career, he was a valuable mentor to countless peers and apprentices. His last held position was as General Manager of the Chicago based company Goode Plumbing. Tony became a father for the first time at the age of 23. His kids were his pride and joy, and his favorite thing (of many) to brag about. He instilled in them his love of shoes, buying them the latest greatest style of sneakers for school and Christmas, his athletic talents in baseball, football, and wrestling, and his passion for family. Tony is best described as having had a ‘larger than life’ personality with the biggest heart. He was known for being a good protector and always wanting the best for his family and friends. Tony was preceded in death by his newborn daughters Ema and Isabella in 2002, his grandparents, as well as some close aunts, uncles, and friends. He is survived by his three children 19-year-old Giana, 17-year-old Dominic, and 12-year-old Frank, his life partner Tiffany Jimenez, as well as his parents David and Susan Ricci, his brother Daniel (Emily) Ricci, his sisters Nicole Ricci and Christi (Dave) Billings, nephew Vincent, and nieces Amara, Natalie, Allyson, Stella, and Taylor. He was a loving nephew, cousin, and friend to so many. To honor Tony’s wishes, in lieu of traditional end of life services, a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 11th, 2023, beginning at 6:00p. All are welcome to attend, to honor such a brave and loving soul that is gone too soon.
