Michele Lee Robbins (nee Ploussard), age 64, a longtime resident of Lake Zurich, IL passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2023. Michele was raised in Park Ridge, IL and has remained in the Chicago area her entire life. Michele is preceded in death by her husband Thomas George Robbins, mother Patricia Ploussard (nee Sontag) and brother Tom Ploussard; mother-in-law Nancy Robbins (nee Mischler), and her father-in-law George Robbins. Beloved wife of 38 years to Tom Robbins; loving mother to Bryan and Eric, loving daughter of Bob Ploussard (partner Mary Lou Loughlin), and loving sister to Rob Ploussard, and Jeff Ploussard (Susan). Loving Sister-in law to Pam Meeker (Mike), Debbie Westhouse (Bob), Jan Augustine and Billy Robbins (Sally). Michele also had many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Michele will be deeply missed by many. Michele was a friend to all that she met, and she always treated people like family. Michele’s bubbly personality and vivacious spirit connected her with family and friends from all over the world. Michele’s laugh was especially contagious, and she loved to lift the spirits of everyone around her with good humor and fun. Michele was a lover of the arts, but especially music and dance. Michele never had a quiet house, with the stereo always playing her favorite tunes. Michele loved live-music and never missed a chance to drag people onto the dance floor with her to dance the night away, especially her sons. Michele also loved cinema and literature. She was always searching for the next big hit both in print and on the screen. Michele’s thirst for knowledge meant she was an avid listener to WGN Radio, and she has been featured on the show a few times. Michele received a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University and parlayed this into a long and successful career in I.T. Michele was a savvy, personable, and talented Project Management Professional who drove numerous initiatives to success for multiple large corporations. Michele’s work in I.T. has put a mark on the world and the way people do business. Her colleagues raved about her intelligence, work-ethic, and collaborative spirit and will miss her deeply. Michele had a deep love for all those in her life. She consistently put family and friends in the forefront of her life and actions. She undoubtedly influenced many people throughout her life and Michele’s legacy and spirit will carry on with all those she shared life with. Michele was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. To honor Michele and to help others battling heart disease, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers. A celebration of life will be held in the Chicagoland area in the coming weeks with more details to follow.
