Leone D. (Anderson) Macier, age 91, passed away quietly on May 16, 2024. at home in Winthrop Harbor, IL after a long-term illness. She was born to John E. and Hilma C. (Fallos) Anderson on October 11, 1932 in Waukegan, IL. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Lorraine and her brothers John and Kenneth and her sister Dorothy. Leone was married to her late husband, Henry E. “Bud” Macier on January 1, 1952. She was preceded in death by her son Michael H. Macier. Leone was an avid crafter especially ceramics for which she won many blue ribbons. Also working with her husband on his woodworking crafts that she often painted for him. She was a loving foster mother to over 80 newborn babies for the Lake Bluff Children’s Home. Leone is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Daniel) Thul of Gurnee, IL; a daughter-in-law Sharyn Macier of Waukegan, IL along with six grandchildren; Dennis II (Paula), Darren, and Dani (Andrew) Martz, Katherine (Ben) Franklin, Michael (Erin)Macier, and Robert (Julia) Macier and eleven great-grandchildren; Daniel, Nautyca, and Jaidyn Thul, Phillip Martz and Rosalyn Thul, Benjamin, Isabelle, and William Franklin, Annabel, Lucas and Madelyn Macier and Abigail Macier. Also, one sister-in-law Janet Anderson and a great many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may gather for a Celebration of Life for Leone and Henry Macier at Ft. Sheridan National Cemetery, Highwood, IL on Friday June 28, 2024 at 11am. |
