Jean M. Neumann, 46, of Barrington, lost her battle to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Jean’s faithful endurance and courage remains inspirational for those who knew and cherished her. She passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones and is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born to Richard and Marian Neumann in Elk Grove Village. Jean attended St. Peter Lutheran School in Arlington Heights. After graduating from Rolling Meadows High School she received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Northern Illinois University. She found her career as a Physical Therapist to be very rewarding. She was an integral part of the outpatient clinic of St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates where she was respected by her colleagues and loved by her patients. During the latter part of her 20 years at St. Alexius she completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Utica College. Jean was a loving, intelligent, active lady who loved the Lord and desired to help people. She attended The Orchard Evangelical Free Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Her hobbies included west coast swing/hustle dancing, biking, and traveling. Jean is survived by her mother, Marian and her siblings: Kathy (Robert) Smith and Robert Neumann. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard. A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at The Orchard Evangelical Free Church in Barrington on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 11:00am.
